Julius Bissier

About the object
Bissier translates the motif of the Rhine ferry into oils and ink. It is one of his first studies using this new technique. The depth of perspective begins to dissolve in his roughly sketched ink drawings. The landscape here seems light and flowing, almost Impressionist in style.
