Rudolf Großmann
Hermine Feist-Wollheim and Marczell von Nêmes, um 1929-1931
About the object
Rudolf Großmann places the collector Hermine Feist-Wollheim at the side of the financial magnate, art collector and patron, Marczell von Nêmes. Although they are facing one another, they seem to be strangely distant: could it be that Großmann had staged the meeting? This drawing appeared in 1930 in the satirical magazine Simplicissimus under the rubric "Collectors' Records". Both individuals maintained important collections; Hermine Feist-Wollheim owned one of the largest porcelain collections in Europe, whereas Marczell von Nêmes boasted an impressive collection of paintings.
