About the object
This club from the Gazelle Peninsula was used as a weapon. According to descriptions of the European planter Richard Parkinson from 1906, the victorious warrior is said to have torn off the plumage with his teeth. Even by this time the richly decorated weapons had become rare and were only used as prestige objects.
