About the object
This copy by an unknown hand shows Kirner's Spielende Kinder (Children at Play) painted on a somewhat unusual ground, namely a metal plate, probably tinplate. The copied motif is very true to the original painting and testifies to the popularity and widespread use of Kirner's motif in a variety of different media.
