About the object
The panels are from an altarpiece with two pairs of wings. Scenes from the Life of Mary were depicted on the inside of the inner wings, including the circumcision of Baby Jesus. The Passion of Christ was depicted on the outsides of the inner wings and the insides of the outer wings. This includes the picture of his trial before Pilate.
