About the object
The Inari Shrine in Fushimi, to the south of Kyoto, is famous for its path with hundreds of torii gates that snake up the hill behind the main building of the shrine. At the entrance of the compound, captured in this photograph, rickshaws stand ready for hire. The German caption has misidentified the location of this photograph.
