Woman in Snow, 1880 - 1920
About the object
Photographs were taken of models in all kinds of activities and situations. Here a winter scene is imagined indoors through the application of a white powder, which covers the model’s clothing, her umbrella and the floor. The colourist completes the wintry scene by adding a large number of small white dots, imitating falling snow, onto the photograph.
