About the object
A sociable group of four women seated around a naga-hibachi brazier. A metal teapot is placed at the centre and two of the women are holding teacups, while another seems to be eating a snack. The hanging scroll in the background is real, whereas the chest of drawers to the right is an illusion, painted on paper.
