About the object
The small painting comes from the estate of Heinrich Hansjakobs, through whom numerous art objects and everyday items came into the collection. It shows the Catholic clergyman and popular writer at the age of sixty-nine, sitting in an armchair and holding a book (probably the Bible) in his hand.
