About the object
Lorenz Brunner (1779-1859) died only a few days after his wife Anna Maria. The wax relief of the couple made by Franz Brugger depicts this in miniature. Wax portraits have a long tradition and enjoyed their last efflorescence in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
