Gargoyle: Man with a pointed hat, um 1300
About the object
The gargoyle was originally affixed to the Minster Tower. A copy now replaces it in its position about 50 m above the ground. It differs significantly from the other pseudo-gargoyles (representations of the capital vices) mounted higher up the tower: a gutter has been recessed into it at the back; its open mouth serves as a waterspout.
