About the object
A hanging scroll, lizhou, on which the artist and calligrapher Wu Changshuo copied parts of the “Stone Drum Script” (Shiguwen, circa 5th Century BCE) freehand. Templates were made by using a stone to rub traces of the original scriptures from the Northern Song Dynasty (960/1127).
